De Havilland DHC-2 Beaver

MR Aerodesign Beaver
Builder : Tomm Lund (Norway)

The engine is a Laser 200 pulling a Graupner 16 X 8 3-blade propeller.
Model finnish is one layer of "Japan" paper doped 3 times onto balsa in order to close the pores in the balsa wood. This is followed by one layer of primer with some filler applied and sanded where needed. Actually, the paper method gives very little need for filler and sanding. It is also very light.
Then follows a new layer of primer upon which I apply the thousands of "rivets" needed to give the final touch. The rivets are small drops of white glue applied by special tape with single or double lines of holes. This tape gives the rivets equal spacing, same size and a straight line. Then on top is applied finally two layers of surface paint to correct colour.

The model weight distribution is as follows:

Model fuselage with engine, servos, exhaust pipe, floats and accessories: 8280 grams (incl. lead for balance)
Each wing complete with servoes : 820 grams (total 1640 grams)
Assumed total model plane dry weight : 9929 grams

Fuel tank and liquid assumed : 800 grams

assumed T.O.W. : 10720 grams (10,7 kg)

The radio RC used is JR with a mix of JR and HiTech servoes.
